Anvilsmith Tech was started out of frustration. It began as my own personal FTP server so that I wouldn't have to run all over the internet if I ever
needed to download my set of tech tools again. I was tired of having to click 7 or 8 times to get a file, and the whole time dodging ads and pop-ups
When I wanted to teach myself HTML, I began to create Anvilsmith Tech as a website. My coworkers started using it to download as well, and it
has grown into what it is now. AST is a one man job right now, but I get advice and feedback from several computer repair shops. Do not expect to
visit AST and be able to choose from 20 different Anti-Malware tools. I am just looking for the best techtools that a Computer Tech might need on
any given day, not to turn this into another Major Geeks or similar.
They say that a tech is only as good as his tools. In blacksmithing, a beginner will try to use all kinds of specialized tools, with their instructions,
in order to accomplish the same thing that a master can accomplish with the simplest of tools. A craftsman, however, has a full array of tools
and knows when to use each one to maximize quality and efficiency. I would apply this same concept to computer tech work. A really good tech
has all the techtools that he will need, and knows when to use them, and when it would be a waste. Whether you are an aspiring tech who wants
to learn, or a veteran computer tech since before DOS, I welcome you to this website and hope that it may be a good resource.
